N-Power: Your guess may be wrong

Quite a number of the beneficiaries of the popular N-power program, one the National Social Investment Programs of the President Mohammedu Buhari led administration which has impacted the lives of about 500,000 youths across the Federation, are of the opinion that the program may be meeting its end following the recurrent delay of the beneficiaries monthly Stipends.

A Twitter user, Luwoye Taiwo Gabriel, who lamented the shaky and unrealistic posture of the program since it was transferred to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and called on the Federal Government to retransfer it to the Office of the Vice President, got a reply from the official N-power Twitter handle which deserves critical evaluation.

N-power handlers replied:
The President moved the programmes to the Ministry so it can be institutionalized. The Vice-President supported and still supports that decision.
The movement is progress because this Government prioritizes social development and understands the importance of institutionalization.
Replying to a claim by a Twitter user, ‘T’ Forbidden who asserted that the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs may be bank-fixing the beneficiaries' monthly stipend on personal gains and on the perils of the numerous beneficiaries, N-power handlers said:
There are these little things called Libel and Defamation of Character.
What you have said isn't true because all payments originate from the Treasury Single Account. Don't tweet things that you can't defend.
A sense of reasonability would wonder why the transfer of the payment platform to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation and hosted it on the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) Server while payments are made from the Single Treasury Account.

One would also wonder why the Institutionalization of the program by placing it under a Ministry which oversees it's affairs, decision making and implementation while on the watch of the Executive arm of the Government.

On separate occasions, the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk, has restated her resolve in restructuring the program to meet the mandate of the Ministry and the desire of the youth populace.

During an inaugural meeting of the United Nations COVID-19 Basket Fund meeting held in Abuja, the Minister disclosed that the restructured program features the N-Power plus which bases on skills acquisition with behavioural change and communication including leadership and peacebuilding skills for our youth and the creation of a Social Protection Council to provide strategic leadership aligned with the coordinating mandate of the Ministry.

Could it be that there are things undisclosed to the beneficiaries who have thronged the social media to cling to the suicidal crane of speculation, stirring the water they may drink without knowing whose cup would be filled first.
