COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Confirms 442 cases, Discharges 152


The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has on Thursday 16th April, 2020 announced the confirmation of 35 New cases of Coronavirus infection in Nigeria bringing total number of Confirmed cases to 442.

According to the Agency, as at 10:20 pm 16th April, 2020, Lagos recorded 19 New confirmed cases, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano and 2 in Oyo. 

NCDC noted that the country has commendably discharged 24 New recovered victims of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria bringing the total number of recovery to 152, but recorded 1 New Death bringing the total number of death to 13.

    The Director General of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu restated the Agency's commitment in ensuring thorough defeat of the COVID-19 pandemic while speaking on Classic FM 97.3. 

    The DG noted that it's the Agency's and Nigerians responsibility to prepare for a future ahead and focus on interventions that will be sustained so as to prevent a rebound of COVID-19 infection.
